A note from Lindsey…..

I didn’t know she’d sussed me out so well :)

I shall be keeping it forever!

We had an interesting lesson today in what it must be like to hear voices. We were given these sheets of paper and asked to put ourselves into groups of three. One person sat in the middle and acted as the voice-hearer. The other two sat on either side and acted as the voices. I was a voice. We used the sheets. Only I made up my own things to say on the rationale that the voices usually pick on things that are personal to you. We just let rip for a couple of minutes.

I’ve done the exercise before so I probably didn’t learn anything new. And I’ve heard voices anyway – although to be fair they were pretty pleasant. But I do think the exercise is a good one. It certainly makes sense of some of the odd behaviours that people sometimes exhibit during psychotic episodes - furtive glances to the side, shaking the head, grinning and other facial expressions that seem out of context, taking ages to answer etc etc. No blooming wonder with all that going on in your little old brain! And no wonder people talk back or just tell them to “Shut up!”

It did make me laugh though when Lindsey handed me her sheet at the end. She rather does amuse me somewhat!

I presume you mean you’re sister? Or are you joining in the abuse – so early in our relationship?

What IS a fanny pack anyway?
All I can think of is a tampon. And I’m sure you’re not calling your beloved sister a tampon?!!

I am annoyed that my first comment posted twice…I only clicked in once. Hahahaha I mean my sister, that’s why she’s the FP (the fanny pack). It’s what the American’s call a bumbag. So she’s a fanny pack…although she stole my phrase and now uses it as her own. I may copyright it. Hahaha a tampon. I am amused.

I must confess, I have heard the FP use the phrase herself. You should have her for that. I know I would.
I wondered what the FP stood for and sadly had tried to guess!

    Dankeschön!

I must confess though she is the one who came up with the shortened version ‘FP’, however I still claim it as my own. I’m going to make her pay a fiver for everytime she uses it I think….my royalities and all that.

Hahaha your guessing has made me chuckle. Out of interest, what were your guesses?

Damn, the things people hear in their heads :S. Maybe it’s not so bad that my mind is blank with no commentary during periods of inactivity!

Haha anyway, just a random passing through,
    all the best!
