Sick

Headache. Sore throat. Achy joints. Nothing to write home about. Just laid on the settee all day. Yuk!

Really am All at Sea Today!

thumb-seaside.jpg

This is me yesterday. Trying to wear as many colours as I could in one go.

It was very lovely on the beach but we did get told off for walking on very soft sand. It was embarrassing but hey.

Just off to Wookey Hole today. Looks like fun. Fairy garden :-) Victorian arcade :-D Good company. Perfect!

Holiday!!!

thumb-prophetic.jpg

The photo above is what we Christians like to call prophetic. It contains a message about an element of truth that you aren’t aware of. Peanut is curled up in an open drawer of a rickety old chest of drawers. In the corner on the table is the insurance policy. In this case the message is ‘Peanut is going to be the one that makes petplan cat insurance worthwhile!’ or something like that. The prophecy foretold in this photo has just started to become experienced reality!

So last chance. Anybody want him? He did plead for a bit when I asked him to get in the box ready to go to a new family. But eventually he curled up like an obedient kitty and accepted his fate.

thumb-pleading.jpg

So he’s all ready to go. Offers?

thumb-ready.jpg

I actually don’t think he’s going to cost us much more. His leg has definately improved loads. I’m only getting rid of him now because he woke me up this morning by standing on my face and when I opened my eyes it wasn’t his front end I was looking at. Not nice. Not nice at all.

Well, the wet and windy weather is perfect for a holiday. All packed. Emma has just put the bikes on the car. The only thing left to pack up is this laptop! Apparently they have wireless internet there ;-)

Two Bits of Birthday ‘News’

I had an amazing surprise when I got to work on my birthday (wednesday). As I was walking into the office I could hear a wierd grinding sound. It was quite loud and it would be fair to say that it unnerved me a little. I went in and there was no-one there but this was on my desk…

thumb-david.jpg

Inside it’s just signed ‘David’ and a kiss. A kiss for me. A kiss for me from David Tennant. My David. I get butterflies in my stomach thinking I’m holding a card that he held. My boss said he did just catch a glimpse of a big blue box out of the corner of his eye but when he turned round it wasn’t there so he thought he imagined it. I know better :-)

And I got a fab box of Lily O’Brien chocolates from my work mates. These are the chocolates in various poses.

I have three chocolates left. These are my workmates who kindly bought them. Unfortunately, Sudha was off the day the photograph was taken.

Happy Birthday To Me!

thumb-cake.jpg

Last Friday I went out for a meal with Michelle and Kay. I went to the bar to buy a drink. Said what I wanted. The nice young lady looked a bit uncertain which threw me a little. So I just kind of smiled and gave her the order again. She looked to see if there were any other staff around. There weren’t. “Have you got any ID?” she asked. “Sorry?” I said, genuinely not sure what she was talking about. “Can you prove you’re 21?”

To cut a long story short, I had to get somebody else to join me at the bar. Funny really. Five days before turning 35!

Today’s Hot News

Jeanette and Ian’s offer was accepted so if all goes to plan they will be moving into a house in our road – across the street and about ten houses down. We can see the front door from our front door. Just long enough to turn the lights off and hide behind the settee if we see them turning right out of their house. No, only joking. It won’t be a problem. Me and Emma have an appointment with Robin Jones a week next wednesday. We’d like to stay in roughly the same area….

This week is a foodie week. This unnerves me. Monday evening I went to a ‘business buddies’ meeting and we were served pie. It was lovely but it was still pie. Today I went to a LEGI meeting (if you can call 9-1 a meeting!) and the lunch was fabulous. Tomorrow, I’m delivering training all day and buffet lunch is provided. In the evening, I’m going for a family carvery dinner with Emma, Jeanette, Ian, Leah and my mum. On Friday evening, I’m going out for a meal with lots of people. I’m not sure where but I’m sure I’ll eat too much wherever it happens to be. At home, I’m fine. I buy healthy food that I like and I don’t really think about food that much. When I’m out, I don’t seem to be able to set any limits. I enjoy eating out but this week does scare me a little. It feels like food is coming to get me.

At least I’m off work next week. I can eat sensibly and cycle lots. On Sunday we are off to Breen Sands in Somerset. Sunday til Wednesday. Me, Emma, Jeanette, Ian and Leah in little old Ester. We’ve got a big awning and a separate bedroom annexe that comes off the main awning. There’s all sorts to do there. Beach. Pub. Farm with animals – children can help put the rabbits to bed at night. I’m looking forward to it. Fun!

And Jeremy got a boat. I think he was happy about it ;-)

Leah did this picture. Some time ago. I don’t know when. It’s me. Can you tell :-)

I got this from a car boot sale but it originally came from inside a kinder egg

I got a bag full of little doll house bits for 50p and this was in it. I took a shine to it because I like rabbity things. It has a number printed on one side so I googled it and found out that it came from a kinder egg and not only is it a really wierd pink bunny (oooooh no) it is also a butler! It’s one of those optical illusions in 3D. How clever of the people at kinder! And I also found the pic of the little slip of paper that would’ve come with it.

These toys are the reason I buy kinder eggs. So why is it that I always seem to get some naff plastic model that you only have to click the head in place and you can’t tell what it was meant to be anyway? I never get the good toys!

Michelle has a brilliant kinder toy on her window sill at work. It’s a little adventure playground. It’s fab. It’s from one of those huge kinder easter eggs. Emma used to get one off her mum every year. She got some great toys too.

Dancing Self Portrait

Watch me dance. Click on the pic. Make your own. I really wish I was tired. It’s 3.20!

(I also did this one and this one and this one and this one but this one is the very best)

View from my Bed

I can’t sleep. It’s almost midnight. So I’m blogging. I’ve had this bucket chair for years – about 6 or 7. Leah was very sick on it when she was a toddler. I can’t remember what she’d been eating but it was very red. Never quite got rid of the mark. Charlie was very new in the picture. And very sweet.

Now the chair cover is blue. I used cold water dye as opposed to the machine dye I used for everything else. Came out quite well I think.

I think I got up too late and slept too much today. You live and learn I suppose!

Two acheivements from Today

It could be said that today has been a very lazy day. I haven’t got out of my pyjamas. I stayed in bed until midday. I napped from 8pm until 10pm. In between I managed to squeeze in a couple of episodes of only fools and horses, one episode of porridge and a couple of one foot in the grave. I also rewatched yesterday’s Doctor Who. I love David Tennant and hope one day to become his wife.

I did at least get two useful things done. I bought a couple of good quality white flat sheets and pillowcases about a fortnight ago from the range. I got 4 metres of white lace from hobbycraft last week. The white ric rac I had already. I also had a piece of lilac gingham. The turquoise fabric was a piece of white cotton that I threw in the machine when I was dying my bedding and curtains recently.

Today I waved my magic wand and they all joined together into these sets. The turquoise one is on my bed which I am about to get into!

Emma’s been looking up the benefits of having an NUS card. Apparently I get a discount in Long Tall Sally. Cool ;-)
