Just had a great time joining in the Sherwood forest holiday. Nice to see lots of happy laughing faces, including Em managing the selfportrait on a bicycle??

Sorry for bothering you, but my fellow classmates and me are doing elective commerce at school and our current group has decided to start a business based on, selling badges. While we were looking through the designs to place on our badges we came across your designs and we were wondering if we have permission to print your design onto our badges. These badges will only be sold to girls at out school and the business is only temporary lasting about a week or so. On behalf of my group and I we are asking for your permission to print your designs and would like to say you have done a great job!

Thank you and sorry for taking up any of your time.

    Greetings,

My name is John Patrick. I am a folklorist interested in children’s rhymes and other sundry stuff. I ran across your post of the “I want a mansion in the Sky” rhyme/song on another blog. I have found this song in songbooks from the 1940s and 1950s (but with no music). Would you be willing to do a short telephone interview so that I could get the tune? If anything, could you sing it into my voicemail at 314.558.0381 so that can get the tune?

    Any help is appreciated.

    Sincerely,

    John Patrick

    I want a man

    I want a man
    I want a man
    I want a man
    I want a man
I want a mansion in the sky
    ;-)

When I was in high school, we rode to away football games in school buses, and sang songs along the way. A favorite of the girls on the bus was this one. You’ll have to email me, then call me to get the tune:

      I wanna a man
      I wanna a man
I wanna mansion by the sea.

      I wanna neck
      I wanna neck
I wanna necklace made of pearls.

And when the dam, dam, dam, dam damage is done
I have child, child, child, child childish fun

      I’ll be a broad
      I’ll be a broad
I’ll be a broader minded girl.
